About The Position

This position is for an Oncology/Hematology Physician to manage a general patient caseload in an outpatient clinic setting. The role primarily focuses on adult patients with a practice split of 70% oncology and 30% hematology. While bone marrow biopsies are preferred, they are not mandatory. There are no inpatient responsibilities for acute leukemia cases, with care predominantly involving chronic leukemia patients. The estimated patient volume is up to 3 patients per hour. The coverage is for an initial 6-month term with the potential for extension, starting immediately pending credentialing.

Requirements

  • Board Certification in Oncology.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Hematology.
  • Current BLS certification (American Hospital Association).
  • Current ACLS certification (American Hospital Association).
  • Active medical license.

  • Perform bone marrow biopsies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a general patient caseload in Oncology and Hematology.
  • Perform bone marrow biopsies (preferred, not mandatory).
  • Focus on outpatient care; no inpatient responsibilities for acute leukemia cases.
  • Care predominantly involves chronic leukemia patients (including chronic myeloid leukemia and chronic lymphocytic leukemia).
  • See adult patients.
  • Manage an estimated patient volume of up to 3 patients per hour (40 minutes for new patient evaluations, 20 minutes for follow-ups).
  • Work within a practice split of 70% oncology and 30% hematology.
