The Oncology Field Medical Director is responsible for providing therapeutic area/product expertise for the designated therapeutic area across a broad range of Medical customer segments and initiatives in an assigned territory (Southern California and Arizona). This role involves planning and executing medical strategy, maintaining knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas and Pfizer medicines, and serving as a conduit for medical information and customer insights. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, optimizing patient centricity in medical communications, and delivering approved medical content about Pfizer medicines. The Field Medical Director will identify and engage with priority customer segments, provide accurate information in response to unsolicited medical requests, lead advisory boards with manager oversight, and handle relevant inbound queries from HCPs. Additionally, the role involves partnering with Global Medical Affairs and R&D to identify potential clinical trial sites, providing medical support for Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR), cultivating research and therapeutic area expertise, and delivering insights on local patient organizations. The Field Medical Director will also serve on cross-functional committees, represent Pfizer Medical Affairs leadership with clinical/professional associations, and act as a mentor for onboarding, advisory boards, and study leads. Special projects may also be assigned.
