About The Position

The On-Site Student Producer plays a key role in executing Summer in the City, Berklee’s off-campus concert series. This position serves as the primary on-site liaison between venue staff, artists, and technical teams, ensuring smooth, professional, and timely event execution.

Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.
  • Current student at Berklee with an interest in live event production, concert management, or arts administration
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and confidence working with artists and external partners
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to stay composed under pressure

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in live events, stage management, or production is preferred but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal communication
  • Time management and attention to detail
  • Leadership and initiative in live event settings
  • Basic understanding of live sound and stage workflows

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for venue representatives, performing artists, and sound engineers on event days
  • Oversee day-of-show logistics , including load-in, soundcheck, performance flow, and load-out
  • Coordinate schedules and ensure all parties are aligned with run-of-show timelines
  • Facilitate clear communication between production, technical, and artist teams
  • Troubleshoot and resolve real-time issues in a calm and professional manner
  • Ensure events adhere to Berklee standards for professionalism, safety, and audience experience
  • Track and report any production notes or post-event feedback to supervisors
