On-Site Maintenance Technician Trainee
About The Position
Pitney Bowes is hiring a direct-hire, full-time, on-site On-Site Maintenance Technician Trainee at its Aurora, Illinois facility. The role pays $25.00 per hour, with an additional $2.00 per hour for second shift. The technician troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs, installs, and maintains industrial mail-sorting equipment and related electromechanical production machinery, including conveyor machines, PLC systems, mail sorters, and printers. The position uses work-order and inventory systems and a tablet to track assigned work, machine downtime, and parts used. Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, charts, service manuals, and parts diagrams.
- Familiarity with a Windows PC environment as it relates to operating automated equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex mechanical and electronic repairs on conveyor machines, PLC systems, and other industrial electromechanical production equipment, including mail sorters and printers.
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and installations on industrial machinery and components, including belt and pulley systems, hydraulic and pneumatic components, motors, photo-eyes, relays, drive assemblies, limit switches, proximity sensors, and solenoids.
- Complete preventive maintenance according to industry quality standards.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency situations.
- Use inventory, preventive-maintenance schedules, and work-order systems to reduce downtime.
- Maintain spare-parts and supply inventory using EAM.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems, assess them, and complete repairs in a timely manner.
- Use a tablet to track assigned work, machine downtime, and inventory used in repairs.
- Perform additional duties as required.
