About The Position

The On-site Inventory Specialist is a front-line employee embedded at the customer location who combines customer facing responsibilities with hands-on inventory management of the customer's vending and storeroom. This role requires strong attention to detail, physical engagement with inventory, and the ability to balance customer service with active stock management, including purchase order placement and receiving.

Requirements

  • Comfortable working in various software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 productivity tools including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in Excel; strong data management and analysis skills.
  • Willing and able to learn and apply new technologies and automation tools to support daily work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Willing and able to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to balance the need to proactively and aggressively manage supply base, while completing daily transactional workload within expected quality and timing goals.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in verbal and written communications.
  • 1–3 years of relevant inventory management, purchasing, sourcing, or other supply chain experience; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for item maintenance activities that meet cost saving objectives and quality standards.
  • Responsible for supporting supplier performance management.
  • Responsible for the management of purchase orders to the supply base and resolving any issues that arise during the order placement and fulfillment cycle.
  • Assist members with product inquiries, technical questions, order expediting, and order customization requests.
  • Represent company daily with onsite representation to local customer stakeholders.
  • Document and ensure all customer and supplier issues are addressed to completion in accordance with quality and timing expectations.
  • Support efforts to improve process efficiencies.
  • Access and maintain plant floor inventory.
  • Gather items from designated receiving area(s) and relocate to the crib; unpack items from shipping containers; place inventory into designated locations and update inventory systems.
  • Evaluate min/max levels to ensure no stock outs.
  • Operate and maintain vending equipment and associated inventory management software to ensure accurate dispensing, replenishment, and reporting.
