About The Position

The Cashier Lead interacts with guests and employees, and works with the T-Rex foreman and Alpine F&B Manager to ensure proper operation of the facility. Responsibilities include opening, closing, cash handling, theft/loss prevention, supervising other crewmembers, and other supervisory functions as deemed appropriate. The cashier lead will be responsible for working on a register during open hours, counting the cash drawers at the end of day and figuring out any issues with shortages/overages, training and updating crewmembers on policies and procedures, assisting cashiers during the day with making change, assisting management in figuring out reasons for any shortages of the cash drawer. The cashier lead will assist in taking cash and end of day reports to the accounting office at the bottom of the mountain each day. This position works on the mountain and skiing or riding is required to get to and from work on a daily basis. You must be able to ski/ride at an intermediate level and own your own equipment, including a helmet.

Requirements

  • Must be able to ski/ride at an intermediate level.
  • Must own own equipment, including a helmet.
  • Must be able to lift and carry loads of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time (will include nights on special event weekends and holidays).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, any times or days needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Must be able to hear normal conversations in a busy, crowded environment.
  • Vision must be within normal range to work safely and to read written information.
  • Must be an experienced skier/rider with own equipment including industry certified helmet.
  • Must own non-slip shoes.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Previous cash handling experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • TIPS certification preferable, may be obtained after employment.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the training of staff and ensuring that staff is following established SOP’s.
  • Transacting sales on a POS system in an efficient and friendly manner.
  • Assisting management in training new employees and implementing new policies and procedures.
  • Working all areas of operation if necessary, including cashiering, cleaning, serving, stocking and organization.
  • Supporting members through teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Processing and completing orders according to outlet recipes and procedures.
  • Verifying correct count of cash drawer at beginning of day.
  • Running financial reports on POS system, counting all drawers at end of day.
  • Keeping cash handling area clean and stocked with necessary documents.
  • Knowing policies regarding payments accepted and discounts offered.
  • Assisting management with end of day reporting.
  • Completing necessary forms for varying portions of business.
  • Assisting with overall restroom cleanliness and duties when needed.
  • Being polite to guests and employees.
  • Making every attempt to please the guest.
  • Greeting every guest, making small talk with them and thanking them for coming.
  • Being available to guests and employees at all times as a great ambassador for the resort, fixing problems as they arise and having fun.
  • Fixing guest challenges as needed.
  • Functioning as an ambassador of Copper Mountain, modeling and sharing the Copper “culture” with guests and employees.
  • Upholding the most professional image.
