Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with youth required
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in counseling, social work, rehabilitation or vocational guidance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision to students who remain on center during authorized Paid Time Off (PTO) during the training day. Serve as a point of contact for students remaining on-center, providing guidance, structure, and appropriate support during PTO.
  • Ensure dormitory facilities are maintained in a safe and orderly condition while monitoring students in an on-center PTO status.
  • Verify and document student presence using approved tracking or accountability procedures.
  • Coordinate with Residential Living Manager, Career Support Manager, Wellness Manager, and other appropriate departments to ensure accommodations, at-risk behaviors, and other concerns are addressed to ensure the safety of students who remain on center during authorized PTO.
  • Conduct regular dormitory rounds to ensure the safety, accountability, behavior expectations, and adherence to center rules.
  • Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, rule violations, or emergencies to the appropriate staff following center and PRH policies.
  • Communicate student status or concerns to appropriate staff prior to end of shift.
  • Encourage positive use of time and enrichment activities for students utilizing on center PTO.
  • Enter appropriate case notes are entered into CIS and send referrals as needed.
  • Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
  • Participate in student employability programs and activities.
  • Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
  • Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
  • Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
