About The Position

Right at Home is a quickly growing home care company that is in search of a team of on-call Caregivers to cover weekend call-out shifts. We will offer competitive pay for your on-call time. You would be expected to respond within 30 minutes for shift coverage. You must have a car, a current TB test, and have years of experience as a DSP/HHA/CNA. You are welcome to pick up ongoing shifts during the week as well!

Requirements

• High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a DSP or other applicable experience
• The Home Health Aide shall have successfully completed a Competency Evaluation that meets the State licensing law for home health agencies
• Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
• Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
• Read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
• Have a valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation
• Must have a car
• Must have a current TB test

Responsibilities

• Assisting the patient with activities of daily living such as providing assistance with personal hygiene (toileting, bathing, care of mouth, skin and hair), ambulation, eating, dressing, shaving, light housekeeping, and other household chores.
• Prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen.
• Perform other assigned activities which are taught by a nurse, for a specific patient, which includes but is not limited to: Assisting with the change of ostomy appliances, Reinforcement of dressings (non-sterile), Assisting with the use of devices for aid in daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair or lift device), Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises, Assisting with self-administered simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, or albumin (may not interpret results), Measuring and preparing special diets, Measuring intake and output, Taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure), Application of an external (condom-type) catheter, Assisting with application of arm sling, arm splint or leg splint.
