About The Position

D.M. Burr Security is a different kind of security guard company. With over 150 team members, DM Burr Security services a variety of areas, such as schools, government and public facilities, manufacturing plants, financial institutions, retail centers and more! This is a part-time, on-call position where officers are needed as required at Integrated Services of Kalamazoo. On-call officers must have flexible availability for all shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and have the opportunity to transition into regular positions as they become available. The hourly wage is $17.50/hour, with the option of the DailyPay service for next-day pay.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong observational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physically capable of standing or walking for extended periods.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must pass a background check and any required licensing or training.

Nice To Haves

Prior security or customer service experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Patrol assigned premises on foot or by vehicle to deter and detect signs of intrusion, unauthorized persons, or suspicious activity.
Monitor security systems, alarms, and surveillance cameras.
Control access to facilities by verifying identification and credentials.
Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, providing assistance as needed.
Document incidents, daily activities, and security irregularities in clear, accurate, and timely written reports.
Enforce property rules and regulations professionally and courteously.
Provide excellent customer service while interacting with employees, visitors, and the public.
Assist in evacuations or other safety procedures in emergencies.
Liaise with local law enforcement or emergency responders as necessary.
Follow all company policies and procedures to maintain high standards of conduct and appearance.
