About The Position

Dacus Towing & Recovery is seeking a dependable and professional On-Call Tow Truck Driver to provide emergency roadside assistance, towing, recovery, and transport services during evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays as needed. This position plays a critical role in serving customers during stressful situations and requires someone who can work independently, make sound decisions, and represent our company with professionalism.

Requirements

  • Must reside within 10 minutes of McPherson.
  • Must be available to respond during assigned on-call shifts and report to the shop within 15 minutes of dispatch notification.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid CDL with acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical examination and maintain medical certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required certifications and endorsements.
  • Ability to safely operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, overnight hours, weekends, holidays, and rotating on-call schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to towing and roadside service calls in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
  • Perform light, medium, and heavy-duty towing and recovery services.
  • Provide roadside assistance services including lockouts, fuel delivery, battery jump-starts, tire changes, and winch-outs.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, law enforcement agencies, repair facilities, and other service providers.
  • Assess recovery situations and make safe, informed decisions while protecting people, vehicles, and property.
  • Accurately document calls, update statuses in towing software, collect payments, and complete required reports and paperwork.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure all vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained, secured, and kept clean and organized.
  • Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
  • Represent Dacus Towing & Recovery professionally through appearance, attitude, and customer interactions.
  • Promote company services and assist in building positive customer relationships within the community.
  • Reliability and availability are essential functions of this position.
