About The Position

We are currently looking for On-Call Teachers that have strong interpersonal skills and find joy in working with children and adults. The ideal candidate will be committed to learning and teaching in emergent, project-based ways, lead by example for the children, and ensure a positive and collaborative work environment with all teachers in the classroom. Fueling Brains Academy has won the Gold Winner status for the Calgary Herald/Sun Readers choice ‘Best Daycare & Best Preschool’ from 2017 - 2022!

Requirements

• Prepared to change diapers, thoroughly clean, multi-task, and do what it takes to get the job done!
• Qualified with credentials for the position and/or willing to become qualified!

Nice To Haves

• Minimum one year of experience working with children
• Early Childhood Certification - ECE Level 2/3
• Reggio-inspired or Montessori experience is an asset.
• Current First Aid Certificate (may be obtained upon hire)
• Criminal Record Check, with Vulnerable Sector Check, within the past 6 months (may be obtained upon hire)

Responsibilities

• Make a difference every day!

• Guide children in self-motivated learning, helping stimulate their natural desire to learn.
• Encourage children through role modeling and guidance to respect themselves and others.
• Collaborate with classroom teams for planning and implementation of weekly lesson plans.
• Plan open-ended activities with an emphasis on process orientation and a developmentally appropriate curriculum with age-appropriate and individualized activities.
• Be responsible for reporting challenges, successes, and competencies of each student to the Director or to parents on a regular basis.
• Supervise the classroom, helping the children to think creatively, to solve problems independently, and respect themselves and others.
• Be responsible for ensuring an educational, caring, and safe environment for the children.
• Assist children with self-care (i.e. dressing, diapering, feeding).
• Other duties as assigned by Lead Teachers and Program Supervisors.
