On Call Recovery Counselor

This role is part of the Crisis Residential Treatment Facility (Fresno CRT) program, serving adults aged 18-59 in a 24/7 inpatient voluntary program with a 16-bed facility. The program offers rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation, with an average length of stay of 30 days. Services include pre-vocational or vocational counseling and medication evaluation and support.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET) required.
- Valid CPR, First Aid, and ProAct certifications are required within 30 days of employment.
- Valid California Driver’s License and eligibility to meet agency driving criteria preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in a social science field preferred.
- Six (6) months of direct care experience in a mental health setting preferred. (A non-professional, consumer-directed internship may be substituted.)
Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with daily living skills, including eating, personal hygiene, grooming, and other care needs.
- Monitoring attendance and encouraging participation in activities and therapeutic programs using positive motivation and support.
- Helping lead group activities and outings.
- Promoting positive social interaction among clients.
- Serving as a positive role model.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of client participation and responses in the medical record.
- Participating in treatment team meetings as needed.
