The position involves standard pharmacy technician duties such as prescription filling, dispensing, and patient delivery, with the flexibility to cover staffing needs as they arise. The role is crucial for maintaining the efficient operation of the NHC Pharmacy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Active and unencumbered Driver’s license.
  • Active automobile insurance.
  • Ability to perform medication deliveries reliably and safely.
  • Strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written, including in stressful situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in operating a multi-line phone system and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing processes, information, and policies.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the population and patients served.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Proficiency with Pioneer Pharmacy Management Software.
  • Proficiency with Epic Electronic Health Record.
  • Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Create pharmacy charts for new patients.
  • Enter and update patient information in the pharmacy record.
  • Assist the pharmacist in filling prescription orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Deliver prescriptions to patients' homes after pharmacist counseling and release.
  • Enter and bill pharmacy insurance plans for dispensed prescriptions.
  • Coordinate and schedule prescription deliveries.
  • Collect payment from patients for dispensed prescriptions.
  • Maintain on-site pharmacy inventory and associated records.
  • Order, receive, and check in medications and supplies from vendors.
  • Review stock and remove expired medications.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries to the pharmacist.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
