About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented On-Call Cleaner to support our healthcare facility’s commitment to cleanliness, safety, and infection control. This role is critical in maintaining a sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors, especially during high-demand periods or in response to urgent cleaning needs. This position is On-Call, meaning there is no predetermined schedule or guaranteed hours. Shifts are offered based on business needs, depending on coverage requirements, and as needed to cover absences for other employees.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or general cleaning roles is a plus
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety standards
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Responsibilities

Perform thorough cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, exam rooms, operating rooms, restrooms, waiting areas, and other clinical and non-clinical spaces.
Respond promptly to emergency cleaning requests, including biohazard spills and terminal cleaning.
Follow strict infection prevention and control protocols, including proper use of PPE and hospital-grade disinfectants.
Safely handle and dispose of medical and general waste.
Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and sanitizers.
Document tasks completed and report any maintenance or safety issues.
Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to ensure cleaning needs are met efficiently and respectfully.
