This is a union-eligible, on-call position for the SOMA Rise program. The program serves adults 18 and over who are under the influence of substances and require short-term assistance and support. The team focuses on engaging participants with health resources, operating a 24-hour space that is welcoming, compassionate, trauma-informed, culturally attuned, and user-responsive, with an emphasis on harm reduction principles. The program prioritizes the safety of individuals at increased risk of substance use-related high-risk behaviors, trauma, homelessness, and overdose deaths. All staff receive training in OD Prevention, Recognition, Response, and Narcan Administration. HR360 aims to reduce barriers for people who use drugs to access a non-judgmental, participant-centered program that addresses the interconnected harms of homelessness, substance use, and trauma. The program provides radical hospitality and support to marginalized populations in a safe, compassionate, trauma-informed, culturally attuned, and user-responsive space focused on harm reduction. It seeks to reduce the harmful impacts of substance-related harms in the community by providing a space for individuals experiencing substance use-related crisis, reducing overdose deaths, and promoting restorative approaches to conflict. The goal is to create a stigma-free zone for SOMA RISE services, incorporating the needs and preferences of people who use drugs in San Francisco into the program's mission, policies, practices, and development. Continuous monitoring of successes and challenges is done to improve service delivery. Collaboration with community partners, including harm reduction, treatment, and wellness resources, is key to creating sustainable links for individuals during and after their SOMA RISE stay.
