Performs routine and complex semi-skilled work in one or more skilled trades including general construction and maintenance, requiring limited supervision and a higher degree of skill. Depending on assignment, duties may include general and limited tasks in the construction, renovation, modification, installation, and repair of buildings, apparatus, and facilities; general painting applications; general air conditioning and heating repair; general plumbing repair and installation; general carpentry repair and renovation; general electrical repair and renovation; installation and repair of underground drainage piping; concrete work; grade shots for pipe and structure installation; small engine repair; work related to utility infrastructure at water/wastewater plants; preventive maintenance duties; assisting with utilities such as meter installation; venue setup for meetings and events, including audio/visual equipment operation; and operating associated equipment such as medium-size weight construction equipment and vehicles. The role requires adherence to Federal, State, County and Local ordinances, and may involve work found in the Maintenance Worker classification series. The position also requires responding to emergency situations and performing other duties as required.
