About The Position

This is a great opportunity for someone who has flexibility in their schedule and is looking to pick up some extra hours as needed. Typically requests will be made for 1-3 days per month, opportunities for more hours will present themselves over certain periods of time. While this is an on-call position, availability should be generally open as needed.

Requirements

  • Able to work flexible schedule.

  • Mathematical abilities, including basic math.
  • Speaking/hearing on the phone.

  • Able to walk stairs.
  • Moving about, usually while standing up for a significant portion of the workday.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting guests efficiently, courteously and professionally in all front office related functions according to the standards set forth by management.
  • Maintaining a high standard of service and hospitality at all times.
  • Registering guests into the hotel in a prompt and courteous manner using up selling techniques to maximize room rates.
  • Preparing for group check in and out, and VIP arrivals.
  • Becoming informed of events/functions in the hotel during the shift.
  • Checking guests out of the hotel.
  • Processing customer payments according to established policies and procedures.
  • Responding to guest requests promptly.
  • Promoting hotel services, facilities and outlets.
  • Providing guests with information such as local attractions and directions to increase guest satisfaction.
  • Resolving guest complaints to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Informing supervisor of major problems, complaints, disturbances or unhappy guests.
  • Booking guest reservations or coordinating with reservation center.
  • Handling departmental accounting of moneys, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit.
  • Posting all charges.
  • Completing cashier’s report, preparing deposit and counting cashier bank.
  • Issuing, controlling and releasing guest safe-deposit boxes.
