About The Position

ICF is seeking On-Call Archaeologists based in Oregon (statewide). This role primarily involves fieldwork, assisting senior archaeologists with tasks such as survey, testing, evaluation, data recovery, and construction monitoring. Additional duties may include laboratory analysis, background research, report preparation assistance, and other assigned tasks. The position requires strong field skills, the ability to identify pre-contact and historic-period artifacts, and meticulous field note-taking. Travel for up to 8 days may be required, though much of the work is local and may not necessitate overnight stays. Work will be conducted outdoors in various weather conditions, potentially involving hiking 5-10 miles daily, shovel testing, and prolonged standing. ICF provides single occupancy hotels and GSA per diem rates for travel assignments, and mileage reimbursement at the current GSA rate for personal vehicle use. All travel time is compensated at the hourly rate. On-Call employment at ICF is project-specific or seasonal, with work hours scheduled as they become available, though typically a few weeks in advance. On-Call employees have the flexibility to accept or decline assigned hours and may pursue concurrent projects outside of ICF, provided there is no conflict of interest.
