About The Position

Looking for On-call Driver for our Senior Nutrition Program! Starting at $22.95 - $24.32/hour (D.O.E.) Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the on-call driver provides delivery food and related services items to homebound seniors and senior meal sites.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A combination of training and experience that would indicate the ability to successfully accomplish duties and responsibilities.
  • 0ne year experience driving within a delivery system with no moving violations for the past three years.
  • 0ne year experience working with seniors.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and follow a standard road map.
  • General geographical knowledge of Pierce County.
  • Skilled at driving one quarter ton or larger van.
  • Ability to work well within a team structure developing and maintaining productive, collaborative relationships with staff as well as clients, customers and vendors.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and responsibly with staff as well as clients, customers and vendors.
  • Ability to be flexible, meet deadlines and work effectively under stress.
  • Ability to represent Catholic Community Services in a positive and professional manner.
  • Ability to obtain basic first aid and CPR certification within 2 months.
  • Ability to obtain basic food handlers’ card within 2 weeks.
  • Ability to pass drug urinalysis test.
  • Washington State Driver’s License and no moving violations for the past three years.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery to homebound clients
  • Confirm meal delivery with clients as needed.
  • Pack meals and related supplies in preparation for transport and delivery to client.
  • Review and confirm delivery route to ensure economical use of time and equipment.
  • Obtain client's signature.
  • Accept donations to be returned to the office.
  • Distribute menus, newsletters, surveys, senior newspapers, educational material, etc.
  • Check on welfare of client.
  • Maintain correct inventory and daily totals of meals delivered.
  • May be requested to deliver food to Senior Nutrition Meal sites if needed.
  • Delivery to Meal Sites
  • Pack meals and related supplies in preparation for transport and delivery to meal sites.
  • Confirm delivery request with Production Coordinator as needed.
  • Measure and record food temperatures prior to loading in delivery vehicle.
  • Measure and record food temperature upon delivery to meal site.
  • Ensure food is placed in appropriate storage at meal site upon delivery.
  • May be requested to deliver food to homebound clients if needed.
  • Special Annual Deliveries
  • Deliver fresh produce directly to client and meal sites ad designated.
  • Deliver shelf-stable emergency meals to clients and meal sites as designated.
  • Vehicle maintenance and safety checks
  • Perform van and packing equipment cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Perform daily safety checks and record and report any concerns to Lead Driver.
  • Complete daily safety check prior to deliveries.
  • Follow regular schedule of van maintenance and report concerns to Lead Driver.
  • Access to and protection of PHI/ePHI: Responsible for upholding a culture of privacy and security in highly confidential work environment (HIPAA covered entity service area).
  • Complies with all CCSWW policies and procedures that involve access to and safeguarding of client Protected Health Information (all forms).
  • Other duties as may reasonably be assigned.
