About The Position

Visiting Angels King of Prussia is seeking an HHA or CNA to provide non-medical personal care and companionship to clients in their homes on an as-needed basis. This role is crucial for covering last-minute needs, call-outs, short shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergencies. The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, and dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care. While based in King of Prussia, this position requires coverage across all Visiting Angels locations in the Greater Philadelphia area as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous caregiving, home care, or related experience required.
  • Experience with Dementia, Hospice, and all personal care is required.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, if required to transport clients.
  • Must be able to pass required background checks and pre-employment screening processes.
  • Must be physically able to safely assist clients with mobility, personal care, and activities of daily living.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills required.
  • Must demonstrate compassion, patience, and dependability in client care interactions.
  • Must be able to provide proof of vaccination.
  • Must be able to perform physical job functions, including prolonged periods of standing and walking, as well as frequent bending, lifting, and assisting clients with transfers and mobility support.
  • Must be able to safely operate Hoyer lifts and other mechanical transfer devices.
  • Must be competent in the care and maintenance of Foley catheters, ostomy bags, and other client-specific medical support needs.

  • Ability to work with all pets, including cats, dogs, and reptiles.
  • Willingness to provide care in various home environments, including residences where smoking may occur.
  • Ability to provide care and support to clients with a variety of cognitive, neurological, and chronic health conditions, including dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and other age-related or medically complex diagnoses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide non-medical personal care services, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, meal preparation, and feeding.
  • Perform light housekeeping and laundry related to client care.
  • Provide medication reminders (no administration).
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Assist with errands and transportation as assigned.
  • Observe and report changes in client condition to office staff.
  • Follow individualized care plans and agency policies.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Respond promptly to on-call requests and arrive on time for assigned shifts.
  • Perform office and administrative tasks as assigned by supervisor when not working on a client shift.
  • Travel independently to client locations throughout assigned territories, including regular travel between service areas.
