Located in the beautiful Black Hills region of South Dakota, Mount Rushmore National Memorial is open year-round and operates retail shops and a variety dining outlets serving convenient grab-and-go meals and coffee. No matter what your job is, you will be a proud steward of the park and play an essential role in providing warm and friendly hospitality to all our guests. We’re hiring On-Call/Intermittent Banquet Servers! This position is on-call/intermittent, with season dates from September 2026. The pay is $16.00/hour, and the schedule is as needed. No employee housing is available.

Requirements

  • Previous banquet serving ability is strongly preferred.
  • Willing to “pitch-in” and help the team with tasks.
  • Ability to communicate well with guests in English.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes in Food and Beverage.
  • Constantly: Standing, walking, and lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasionally: Sitting, climbing, crawling, squatting/kneeling, lifting/carrying over 50 lbs, and pushing/pulling over 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor or banquet lead to include linen, service ware and glassware.
  • Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest expectations.
  • Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the Supervisor or banquet lead to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.
  • Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal or function.
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Replenish beverages as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
  • Once the banquet is complete, reset banquet room according to Supervisor’s specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
