About The Position

This role is responsible for performing banquet service duties in accordance with hotel standards and instructions from management. The position involves setting up banquet areas, serving guests, cleaning up after events, and performing various side tasks to ensure smooth banquet operations. The role also requires maintaining a positive and professional demeanor, adhering to safety protocols, and interacting effectively with guests and colleagues.

  • Ability to lift and balance heavy trays of food, service-oriented, friendly, speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to work on time, properly attired and groomed.
  • Performs set up using clean linen, silverware and glassware appropriate to the menu being served and in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Performs service correctly, adhering to the service rules of the hotel in accordance with instructions given by the Banquet Manager and Captains.
  • Performs clean up in a professional manner, carefully separating glassware, china and tableware from the table and properly transporting these items to the kitchen, as well as returning soiled linen and skirting to the laundry.
  • Performs assigned side jobs daily, including filling of salt and pepper shakers, sugar bowls and stocking of mis-en-place and proper linens and skirting.
  • Reports all incidents, accidents or unusual customer requests to the Captain or Banquet Manager.
  • Maintains a cooperative, professional style with supervisors and fellow workers.
  • Complies with all workplace health and safety requirements, including any department specific training regarding equipment and procedures.
  • Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
