About The Position

Audacy Minneapolis is seeking a dynamic storyteller to host a show on NewsTalk 830 WCCO, a trusted Upper Midwest station. The host should have an engaging personality, compelling perspectives on current events, strong interviewing ability, and an interest in serving the community. The role combines live news and information programming with a strong digital presence to reach the next generation of listeners.

Requirements

Be a great teammate and work well collaboratively.
Be an excellent communicator with strong creative skills.
Have knowledge of the format and audience.
Understand FCC guidelines.
Have connections and familiarity with the Twin Cities area, Minnesota, and the station.

Responsibilities

Perform live broadcasts that are entertaining and informative.
Communicate with the producer, Brand Manager, and News Director to ensure program goals are continually met.
Work with the show producer on content strategies, story angles, guest ideas, and audience engagement.
Interact with the audience on social media daily.
Maintain strong contacts and relationships with a variety of community leaders.
Create daily content for the website and social media channels.
Prepare and research for broadcasts.
Protect the station’s FCC license.
Ensure contests and promotional announcements are executed properly.
Cross-promote other station shows on air and via social media.
Occasionally make personal appearances at station events and remote broadcasts.
Perform other duties as required by management.
