About The Position

The OMS Microservices Developer is responsible for developing detailed design, testing, and deployment of Order Management Solutions (OMS) in accordance with approved Business Requirement Documents (BRD). This role involves leading the development and optimization of microservices integrated with IBM Sterling OMS, architecting enhancements to core OMS functionalities, and collaborating with various teams to align technical solutions with strategic goals. The developer will design integration flows, provide guidance on performance and fault-tolerant design, review code, mentor junior developers, and drive DevOps adoption. Additionally, the role includes developing computer programs, analyzing existing logic, creating reports and data extracts, and documenting modifications. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field and significant enterprise application development experience, with specific experience in OMS microservices, Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and retail OMS functionalities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management and Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) enterprise application development experience.
  • 24 months of experience with Order Management Services (OMS) microservices and integrating OMS with external platforms using Kafka, IBM MQ, or similar messaging tools and resolving performance and integration issues in large-scale systems.
  • 24 months of experience using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
  • 24 months of experience with distributed systems, AP Gateways, and service orchestration.
  • 24 months of experience with OMS for retail industry including order-to-cash processes, supply chain, and real-time inventory visibility.
  • 24 months of experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and production support of large-scale systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimization of microservices integrated with IBM Sterling OMS to support complex order lifecycle processes.
  • Architect and implement enhancements to core OMS functionalities including sourcing rules, inventory management, and order orchestration workflows.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, business analysts, and product teams to align technical solutions with strategic goals.
  • Design integration flows between OMS and systems such as ERP, WMS, POS, CRM, and payment gateways using APIs and message queues (Kafka, MQ).
  • Provide guidance on performance tuning, high availability configurations, and fault-tolerant service design.
  • Review code, mentor junior developers, and enforce coding best practices and standards.
  • Drive DevOps adoption, CI/CD pipeline configuration, and container-based deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure timely delivery of high-quality, production-ready services.
  • Develop accurate and efficient computer programs and processes.
  • Work with Application Manager and business stakeholders to define requirements and functional/technical design for the improvement and replacement of systems and processes.
  • Analyze existing program logic and design enhancements based on correction and modification requirements.
  • Create special reports, data file extracts, and data conversion from existing databases.
  • Consult with Application Manager and project stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
  • Document internal and external modifications, changes, and processes in relationship to assigned projects.
