About The Position

The Orenda Center of Wellness, LLC is seeking a motivated individual to manage their clinical mental health department in the greater Frederick community. This organization is dedicated to combating addiction and mental health stigma by treating clients with compassion and care through comprehensive addiction treatment programs and therapeutic mental health services. The Outpatient Services Mental Health Department Manager will report to the outpatient services Executive Director and collaborate with the Substance Use Clinical Manager to ensure dual diagnosis clients receive appropriate therapeutic services. The center operates as a true dual-diagnosis treatment facility, allowing clients to receive concurrent or exclusive substance use and mental health therapies. The Orenda Center of Wellness emphasizes a "whole life ideal" approach, tailoring treatment programs to individual client needs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mental Health, Counseling, and/or Social Work.
  • Appropriate Maryland state licensing such as LCPC, LCSW.
  • Working knowledge of ASAM criteria & SUD diagnosis in a dual diagnosis setting.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience working in the field of addiction treatment and/or mental health counseling as a licensed provider.
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic group and individual sessions.
  • Experience managing a team of therapists and overseeing multiple caseloads.
  • Understanding of treatment planning, clinical notations, dual diagnosis charting and interventional skills.
  • Ability to maintain a caseload of 15 or more clients at a time while managing department responsibilities.
  • Ability to pass local & federal background checks.
  • Ability to clear a full panel drug screening.
  • CPR/First Aid Certified.

Nice To Haves

  • C level Therapist with Supervision status preferred.
  • De-escalation and crisis response training is preferred but not required.
  • Management experience in a behavioral health setting along with clinical program experience is preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting individual, group, and/or family sessions.
  • Facilitating mental health groups and/or individual sessions.
  • Completing mental health clinical assessments.
  • Maintaining a caseload of 12 to 16 active clients.
  • Reviewing and signing all OMHC clinical documentation for department staff.
  • Collecting weekly and quarterly department data for compliance reporting.
  • Documenting all groups and sessions in the EMR system within 48-hour deadlines.
  • Providing daily oversight, management, and support of onsite and remote mental health therapists.
  • Handling crisis intervention with strong de-escalation skills.
  • Working with dual-diagnosis clients ranging from adolescents to adults, who may have a history of trauma and/or PTSD.
