Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Completion of Medical Assistant program accredited or approved by the Washington Department of Health required.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in healthcare in an outpatient clinic or inpatient setting required.
  • Previous teaching or staff development experience required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Current Medical Assistant– Certified license issued by the WA State Department of Health required.

Nice To Haves

  • AA in healthcare or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates educational programs, in conjunction with the Director of Staff Development.
  • Assists educating within the OMP outpatient clinic and perform duties that are consistent with their Medical Assistant education, training, experience, and certification.
  • Participates in organizational educational needs assessments and quality improvement activities; assists the Staff Development Team to complete clinical competency checklist for RN/MAs as needed
  • Uses clinical knowledge and skills to advance the training and education of OMP Clinical Support Staff.
  • This position supports managers and supervisors to resolve education gaps in clinical staff and attends meetings, training and orientations as necessary to deliver educational support.
  • Participates in standardization and support of strategic and organizational goals, including maintaining accreditations and affiliations.
  • Supports educational initiatives clinical and non-clinical based on experience and initiative requirements.
  • This role is required to teach Basic Life Support as needed to support the organization.
