OluKai Retail Associate - Charleston, SC
About The Position
The OluKai Retail Associate, or Huaka’i, welcomes customers into the store and delivers a remarkable brand experience. This role serves as a first point of contact for store guests and calls for a responsible, outgoing, culturally minded, genuine, and service-oriented team member with a passion for premium products and retail. The position is part time, working 29 hours or fewer per week. The associate supports individual and team sales goals, builds rapport with customers, shares information about OluKai’s products and brand partnerships, and helps customers find suitable products. The role also includes maintaining store presentation and cleanliness, assisting with back-of-house product processing and restocking, using the point-of-sale system, resolving customer issues, representing the brand, and participating in local events and giveback programs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Must be available for at least three shifts per week, each lasting 4–8 hours.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Must be 17 years of age or older.
- Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
- Independent work ethic, excellent time-management skills, and organizational abilities.
- Positive attitude and high integrity.
- Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- GED or high school diploma preferred and/or in action.
- At least 6 months of experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and deliver a remarkable brand experience.
- Work toward and exceed individual and team sales goals.
- Engage new customers and build rapport.
- Share stories about brand partnerships, product design inspirations, and the purpose behind the products.
- Maintain expertise on OluKai product lines, communicate product quality and authenticity, stay current on fashion trends, understand customer needs, and recommend appropriate selections.
- Resolve customer issues independently while maintaining a spirit of Aloha, including in high-stress situations.
- Uphold visual standards and maintain store cleanliness.
- Assist with back-of-house duties, including receiving, processing products, and restocking.
- Use point-of-sale best practices to support a seamless customer experience.
- Represent OluKai as a brand ambassador.
- Participate in local events and giveback programs.
