About The Position
This is a list call request. In order to be considered for this position, candidates must be serving permanently in the title, or be reachable on the open-competitive list for Exam# 3101. The role involves lubricating and cleaning pumps, compressors, motors, gears, ejectors, and other operational equipment. Responsibilities include reading meters and gauges, assisting in the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, keeping logs, operating lubricant filtering and purifying equipment, and maintaining lubricant inventory. The position may require working a night shift. Physical demands include climbing stairs, ladders, and over equipment; walking over wet and slippery concrete surfaces; working under piping; and lifting objects up to 60 pounds.
Requirements
- Serving permanently in the title, or be reachable on the open-competitive list for Exam# 3101
- Three years of full-time satisfactory experience in the lubrication, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment
- One and one-half years of experience as described in "1" above plus graduation from an approved trade, technical, or vocational high school or completion of an approved internship program
- One year of experience as described in "1" above plus an associate degree from an accredited school in mechanical technology
