About The Position

This is a list call request. In order to be considered for this position, candidates must be serving permanently in the title or be reachable on the open-competitive list for exam #3101. The role involves lubricating and cleaning various operational equipment, reading meters and gauges, assisting in equipment operation, maintenance, and repair, keeping logs, operating lubricant filtering and purifying equipment, and maintaining lubricant inventory. The position may require working a night shift. Physical activities include climbing stairs, ladders, and over equipment; walking on wet and slippery surfaces; working under piping; and lifting objects up to 60 pounds. The work location is 300 West 206th Street, Manhattan, 10034, with hours from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Requirements

• Serving permanently in the title or be reachable on the open-competitive list exam #3101
• Three years of full-time satisfactory experience in the lubrication, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment
• One and one-half years of experience as described above plus graduation from an approved trade, technical, or vocational high school or completion of an approved internship program
• One year of experience as described above plus an associate degree from an accredited school in mechanical technology

Responsibilities

• Lubricate and clean pumps, compressors, motors, gears, ejectors and other operation equipment
• Read meters and gauges
