About The Position

The Oil Processing Technician manages daily oil-handling and purification activities to support safe, efficient, and continuous production. This position works closely with multiple departments and shifts to maintain oil quality, monitor usage, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure compliance with company procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety requirements, and all applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in fried-food processing or a related food-manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Forklift operating experience required; certification may be required.
  • Knowledge of common practices, procedures, and regulations within the food-processing industry.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices, and food safety regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work safely and productively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, and collaborate across departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate oil purification activities based on the production schedule and departmental priorities.
  • Identify appropriate times to blend recovered oil into active production processes.
  • Measure, track, and report daily oil usage.
  • Coordinate oil-processing activities across departments and shifts to support consistent practices and production continuity.
  • Monitor daily operations and assist with troubleshooting equipment and process-related issues.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures and work practices are consistently followed.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to oil-processing efficiency, preventive maintenance, and equipment downtime.
  • Support departmental performance goals and key performance indicators.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and sanitation standards.
  • Provide process and equipment troubleshooting training to associates as needed.
  • Operate a forklift safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Comply with all company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to support training, operational needs, and emergencies across shifts.
  • Comply with applicable SQF requirements, food safety policies, quality standards, GMPs, and company procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
