About The Position

Kean Miller is seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Title Opinion Contract Attorney. Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in oil and gas, mineral title, energy transactions, property law, or related regulatory matters. Experience with Texas mineral law is strongly preferred.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience drafting oil and gas title opinions in Louisiana preferred
• Strong understanding of Texas mineral law preferred
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with upstream oil and gas matters, including mineral title examination, leasehold title opinions, and due diligence.
• Support large-scale mineral acquisition projects, mineral leasing, surface use agreements, and complex upstream transactional work.
• Draft and negotiate farm-out/farm-in agreements, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, servitudes, conveyances, and other energy-related contracts.
• Conduct legal research, prepare title opinions, and assist with curative work and transactional documentation.
• Support CCUS projects, including carbon sequestration servitudes, lease agreements, and related regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with clients, landmen, in-house counsel, and regulatory agencies to advance operations and transactions.
