About The Position

The OGC Manager – Conflicts is an integral part of Latham’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC) team. This role will be responsible for assuring compliance with all policies and procedures of the Conflicts department, while supervising and directing the activities of the Conflicts team and ensuring efficient and effective operation. This role will be located in our New York office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Requirements

  • Possess professional interpersonal skills to effectively interface with attorneys, management, support staff, and outside contacts
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a high‑paced environment while providing excellent customer service
  • Exhibit exceptional independent judgment and discretion when making the majority of decisions
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in a legal or professional services environment, preferably
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of cumulative professional experience

Responsibilities

  • Hiring, training, and mentoring team members to foster a collaborative and skilled team environment
  • Conducting performance evaluations and providing ongoing feedback and support
  • Working closely with attorneys and the Conflicts department to ensure the provision of timely and effective services
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for the Conflicts department for attorneys and staff, assisting with solving problems, providing updates, and triaging requests
  • Assisting with streamlining and managing complex and urgent conflict check requests
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
