About The Position

Dominion Energy is seeking an Offshore Wind Marine Coordinator to support the day-to-day coordination of all offshore vessel activities within the CVOW Pilot and Commercial wind lease areas, including the export cable corridor. This role involves using site-specific software to monitor and track personnel and vessel movements. The Coordinator will collaborate with senior team members on priorities, new procedures, and technology. They will work with other Marine Coordinators, the Supervisor of Offshore Logistics, and the HSE manager to ensure compliance with policies and best marine practices. This position requires documented experience in marine coordination and operates under general guidance. All Marine Coordinators maintain 24x7 operational coverage, requiring shift work. The role involves adhering to established procedures and providing input on revisions to safety protocols, the marine coordination plan, and the Safety Management System (SMS). The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong communication and organizational skills, experience leading daily operation briefs, and maintaining schedules for maritime vessels. Experience in field operations or a dispatching center, a maritime background, and risk mitigation experience are highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills and a solid understanding of basic computer programs.

Requirements

Associate Offshore Wind Marine Coordinator: 0-2 years of related knowledge and experience
Offshore Wind Marine Coordinator: 2-3+ years of related knowledge and experience.
Experience maintaining daily operational logs as well as documenting other unplanned issues associated with work being conducted in the field.
Ability to lead operational briefs for small groups of stakeholders.
Familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and can learn job-specific computer applications.
Experience with shift work either on shore or as part of an offshore crew.
Documented history of effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to monitor weather forecast models and report potential hazards to stakeholders both in the field and onshore.
Ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously and handle constantly changing and emerging priorities.
Experience communicating with personnel or assets in the field using radios, email, VoIP phones or other two-way devices.
Experience following documented procedures associated with complex project scopes.
Ability to compile, analyze and interpret information and data to make sound decisions and recommendations.
Strong organization and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated consensus-building skills and the ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust through independent decision-making.

Nice To Haves

Senior Offshore Wind Marine Coordinator: 5+ years of related knowledge and experience.
Past experience as a member of the USCG or Navy in a command center or vessel support role.
Experience in coordinating offshore vessels in real-time through regular communications using radios and other forms of communications.
Experience operating in the renewable wind energy industry in either the terrestrial or offshore setting.
Knowledge and understanding of emergency response plans, Incident Command Structure (ICS), risk assessments and safety management systems (SMS).
Ability to interpret weather forecasts and weather-related data products and develop a recommendation to stakeholders.
Experience managing or engaging in commercial vessel activities as either crew or shore-based support.
Possess a maritime background with knowledge and experience of national and international maritime regulations relating to maritime safety and environment protection (COLREGS, MARPOL, SOLAS).
Understanding of vessel navigational equipment, aids to navigation and experience using nautical charts and an understanding of hydrographic and meteorological characteristics as they relate to maritime environment.
Working knowledge of power generation and an understanding of regulations and policies governing regulatory compliance in wind energy.
Experience with the development and implementation of Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and Safety Management System (SMS).
Have an ability to effectively clearly communicate during an emergency with Federal, State and local emergency responders to initiate response and effectively respond to an incident.
Demonstratable project communication, leadership and management skills.
Proven analytical skills and the ability to review and comprehend technical information.
Understanding of different vessel types, propulsion systems, vessel stability and vessel bridge procedures.

Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day coordination of all offshore vessel activities within the CVOW Pilot and Commercial wind lease areas including the export cable corridor.
Use site-specific software to monitor and track all personnel and vessel movements within areas of construction and operations.
Collaborate with the Senior OSW Marine Coordinator in setting priorities for the Marine Coordination team.
Make recommendations and help evaluate new procedures and technology for Marine Coordination efforts.
Ensure compliance with all Dominion Energy documented policies and procedures as well as other best marine practices in collaboration with other Marine Coordinators, the Supervisor of Offshore Logistics and Dominion Energy’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) manager.
Maintain 24 x 7 operational coverage that will require shift work.
Adhere to established routine procedures.
Provide input on revisions to safety protocols, the Dominion Energy marine coordination plan and Dominion Energy’s Safety Management System (SMS).
Lead daily operation briefs.
Maintain schedules for maritime vessels working at sea.
Facilitate offshore vessel activity primarily focusing on the identification and mitigation of risks associated with operating in the offshore environment.
Monitor weather forecast models and report potential hazards to stakeholders both in the field and onshore.
