About The Position

This is a very physically demanding job working outdoors which can be very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. The role involves traveling to customer sites both on and offshore to discuss operational problems with equipment, perform Job Safety Analyses, assess equipment conditions, and make appropriate repairs. The technician will be responsible for communication between the company and clients, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all communications and reporting, and maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with company, client, OSHA, and other applicable standards. Responsibilities also include performing Behavioral Safety Observations, ensuring the work area is clean and well-maintained, and assisting in training new employees. The role requires the ability to convey knowledge gained from training sessions, work on-call and off-shift as needed, and troubleshoot and repair control and automated valve assemblies using basic tools. Independent work in a fast-paced environment, overtime including some weekends, and adherence to company policies are expected. Travel is required up to 15% of the time. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years direct Control or Automated Valve repair experience all brands
  • Repair and service of various types of isolation valves. Gate, globe, check, butterfly and ball
  • Perform work on wellhead valves and various types and brands of choke valves
  • PVAM work scope and documentation
  • Valve greasing all types
  • Use of all PVAM pumps and fluids
  • All pneumatic actuator repairs
  • Instrumentation installation and repairs
  • Relief valve services. Pilot and conventional type
  • PVSV repairs and inspection
  • Flame arrestor inspection and service
  • General working knowledge of machinery fundamentals, including Relief Valves, Pneumatic Safety Systems, and Valves
  • General knowledge of Oil and Gas well pad and processing plant equipment and processes
  • Prior success in working as self-directed field worker
  • Capable of using appropriate test equipment to measure power – Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic
  • Trouble shooting and communication skills (our customers may not be able to accurately or completely describe a problem)
  • Knowledge of operation and service of “Motor operated valves” to include brands of electric actuation. EIM, Rotork and Limitorque
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products is required – especially OUTLOOK, EXCEL, and WORD

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Certification preferred – either from an accredited Vo-Tech or Community college

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for communication and education between the company and clients
  • Responsible for communicating company deliverables to the client and for the accuracy and the timeliness of all internal and external communications and reporting
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with company, client, OSHA, and other applicable standards
  • Perform Behavioral Safety Observations as needed
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained
  • Assist in training/mentoring of new employees
  • Able to convey obtained knowledge from seminar/training sessions
  • Able and willing to work on-call and off shift as required by customers or management
  • Troubleshooting and repair of control and automated valve assemblies
  • Use of basic hand and measurement tools
