About The Position

Responsible for specification, installation, testing and repair of all types of electrical or electronic equipment used in the operation of crude oil pipelines. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, pumps, motors, valves, actuators, meters, transmitters, flow computers and programmable logic controllers (PLC). Must perform operational responsibilities to include measurements, regulatory equipment inspections, and other duties as required for the daily pipeline operations. Maintains compliance documentation as required by regulations for the tasks performed. Works with Maintenance and Operations in resolving field problems. Testing, calibration and maintenance of LACT/ACT Units and all associated equipment (meters, monitors, transmitters, etc.). Taking crude oil samples and repairing crude oil sampling equipment. Valve operations and maintenance. Launching/receiving pipeline pigs. Operate and maintain Liquid meters such as: orifice, turbine, PD, Coriolis and ultrasonic. Ensure reliability of regulators and relief valves. Responsible for meeting the performance training requirements as set by local/federal agencies. Successfully complete OQ (Operator Qualifications) training on the tasks performed. Participates in and promotes the Company’s safety program to coworkers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years applicable experience or technical degree
  • Experience with and knowledge of high voltage and PLC units (preferably Allen Bradley and GE)
  • Self-starter, responsible, and able to work with very limited supervision
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Adherence to applicable D.O.T. regulations
  • Considered a Safety Sensitive position, subject to pre-employment and random Drug and Alcohol testing

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with LACT/ACT systems
  • Some travel may be required
