About The Position

The Offshore Superintendent performs and coordinates all assigned project management functions. This includes acting as a liaison between the company and customer/customers on-site inspectors, directing project scheduling and yard operations, communicating project status with management, and managing project costs with corporate accounting to ensure completion within allotted periods and profit projections. The role involves a deep understanding of project contracts, specifications, and material requirements, as well as coordinating project activities with operational personnel to prevent delays and cost overruns. The Superintendent maintains positive relationships with customers and management, assists in developing work packs and budgets, and communicates with the Project Manager regarding material delivery and specifications. They review and approve work schedules, material requisitions, and progress reports, and work closely with project managers on production planning and budgets. The role requires the ability to lead large teams, including third-party contractors, and develop tracking criteria for key personnel. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring material and equipment needs are planned and staged efficiently, providing feedback on project progress, and acting as a team leader in safety, ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures. They foster communication and accountability among foremen and craft personnel, and are accountable for the completion of JSAs and safety protocols. The role also involves technical skills such as pulling measurements, drawing on ISO paper for fabrication procedures, laying out and installing piping and mechanical systems, and inspecting work sites. Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with basic computer proficiency, are essential. The Offshore Manager may assign other duties.

Requirements

  • 5+ years direct Offshore Superintendent experience
  • Must be able to pass a written and practical structural fitter and pipefitter test and/or pass 6G and 6GR -SMAW and FCAW welding test
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Valid TWIC
  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing and seeing

  • Pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Responsibilities

  • Perform and coordinate all assigned project management functions.
  • Liaise between company and customer/customers on-site inspectors.
  • Direct project scheduling and yard operations.
  • Communicate project status with management.
  • Manage project costs with corporate accounting.
  • Ensure completion of assigned projects within allotted periods and profit projections.
  • Review project contracts and ensure an in-depth working knowledge of job specifications, material requirements, completion dates, etc.
  • Coordinate and direct project activities with appropriate operational personnel to ensure an open flow of communications avoiding delays, cost overruns, fabrications errors, etc.
  • Maintain positive liaison with customers, on-site customer inspectors, and management to ensure an open line of communication regarding customer concerns, complaints, change orders, and follow up accordingly with all applicable company management supervisors.
  • Assist the client in developing work packs, associated budgets, and execution sequences.
  • Communicate with the Project Manager regarding the scheduling of material delivery, material specifications, origins, and the cost to ensure coordination of operational functions and timely receipt of materials in that both will comply with contract specifications and schedules.
  • Review and approve work schedules for assigned projects, material requisitions, percent completed schedules/reports, and requests from operations regarding specification requirements.
  • Works closely with project managers for production planning, schedule, budgets, and progress.
  • Assists offshore management in developing schedules and maintaining schedules once offshore.
  • Capable of leading large quantities of personnel and third-party contractors as one team.
  • Capable of setting tracking criteria for key personnel to follow and developing a tracking form needed for such tracking.
  • Maintain positive customer relations, facilitating two-way communications between management and the customer.
  • Ensure that material and equipment needs are properly planned and staged for work to assure an efficient workflow.
  • Review schedule, budgets, and work order report to provide feedback on project progress.
  • Team leader in safety and knowledge of all company policies and procedures.
  • Fosters communication, planning, and personal accountability to foreman, leader man, and craft personnel.
  • Accountable for assuring proper completion of JSA’s and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Able to pull measurements and draw/make drawings on ISO paper for fitting procedures and principles used in fabricating offshore jackets, decks, heliports, production facilities, etc.
  • Lays out and installs piping, equipment, and other mechanical systems in compliance with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Know how to pull coordinates to find pipes and get measurements, while inspect work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness.
  • Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing with basic computer skill.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Offshore Manager.
