About The Position

The Offshore Subsea Controls Electrical Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, and maintaining subsea production control systems and drilling control HPUs. This role involves interpreting schematics, performing electrical terminations and diagnostics, troubleshooting issues, and completing detailed documentation. The technician will also conduct fluid analysis and perform various diagnostic tests on electrical and fiber optic cables. Travel, both domestically and internationally, is required, and the candidate must possess a valid passport and be able to pass an offshore fit for duty physical.

Requirements

5+ years experience in assembling, operations and testing of HPUs for subsea production control and drilling control applications, subsea subsea distribution systems.
Minimum of 2 years in an electrical service technician role offshore.
High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational electrical training or related experience.
Mid level of expertise in assembly and testing of Electro-Hydraulic Power and Control units, subsea distribution equipment and drilling control systems.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & BOMs, P&IDs; wiring diagrams and all written engineering procedures;
Offshore safety and certification required.
Ability to use a computer and Windows Office software.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work harmoniously on multifunction teams;
Ability to balance customer demands against company constraints;
Impeccable reputation and high ethical standards;
Self-motivated and willing to take initiative with limited direction.
Strong understanding of electrical operations and componentry
Must have a valid passport.
Must be able to pass an Offshore fit for duty physical.

Responsibilities

Read, understand, and interpret schematics, P&IDs, sketches, and written instructions to assemble parts or products as well as operations of equipment.
Assembles and tests subsea production control system and drilling control HPUs, subsea distribution hardware & assemblies according to company, customer and industry specifications.
Ensures that safety is of the utmost priority when operating, assembling and testing equipment.
Participates in Deepsea Technologies Safety and Quality observation programs.
Ensure that quality process and procedures are followed.
Performs maintenance and operations of rental equipment both onshore and offshore.
Performs fluid analysis on various types of control fluids and / or chemicals.
Perform both High Voltage and Low Voltage terminations and diagnostics.
Troubleshoots problems, identifies and communicates design discrepancies.
Identifies and suggests design improvements.
Completes required documentation, including but not limited to: daily progress reports, service tickets, test reports, failed test reports and Non-Conformance Reports.
Prepares test procedures and operations / maintenance manuals in accordances with customer and industry standards and specifications.
Perform various diagnostics tests on long electrical conductors and fiber optic cables. This may include TDR, OTDR, CR, IR, etc…
Install Fiber Optic Connection end terminations.
Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes
