About The Position

This is a very physically demanding job working outdoors which can be very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. The role involves traveling to customer sites, both on and offshore, to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment. The technician will be responsible for assessing equipment conditions, performing repairs, ensuring safety compliance, and communicating effectively with clients and internal teams. The position also includes training and mentoring new employees, and requires the ability to work independently and be available for on-call and overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Automated Valve repair experience all brands.
  • Repair and service of various types of isolation valves. Gate, globe, check, butterfly and ball.
  • PVAM work scope and documentation.
  • Valve greasing all types.
  • Use of all PVAM pumps and fluids.
  • All pneumatic actuator repairs.
  • Relief valve services. Pilot and conventional type.
  • PVSV repairs and inspection.
  • Flame arrestor inspection and service.
  • General working knowledge of machinery fundamentals, including Relief Valves, Pneumatic Safety Systems, and Valves.
  • General knowledge of Oil and Gas well pad and processing plant equipment and processes.
  • Prior success in working as self-directed field worker.
  • Trouble shooting and communication skills (our customers may not be able to accurately or completely describe a problem).
  • Verbal /Nonverbal Communication Skills – Conveys thoughts easily and quickly - any message; Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens attentively and seeks clarification; Responds well to questions; Maintains professional disposition at all times.
  • Written Communication Skills - Writes clearly and informatively.
  • Presentation Skills - Presents information clearly and informatively.
  • Computer Skills: Become and remain proficient in all programs necessary to perform the everyday duties of this position. Proficiency in MS Office Products is required – especially OUTLOOK, EXCEL, and WORD.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites both on and offshore with company supplied equipment to meet with customer to discuss operational problems with equipment.
  • Perform Pre-Work JSA “Job Safety Analysis”.
  • Assess condition and problems with equipment and make appropriate repair.
  • Assume responsibility for communication and education between the company and clients.
  • Communicate company deliverables to the client and ensure accuracy and timeliness of all internal and external communications and reporting.
  • Assume responsibility for the overall safety of the work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company, client, OSHA, and other applicable standards.
  • Perform Behavioral Safety Observations as needed.
  • Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or special projects as assigned.
  • Assist in training/mentoring of new employees.
  • Convey obtained knowledge from seminar/training sessions.
  • Work on-call and off shift as required by customers or management.
  • Use of basic hand and measurement tools.
  • Fulfill all company safety training requirements.
  • Meet customer site requirements.
  • Fill CWX service related documentation.
  • Exercise the stop work authority program.
  • Follow John H. Carter Co., Inc. policies, procedures and methodologies.
  • Work collaboratively with development staff and support staff to maintain thorough knowledge of product capabilities, and to ensure that all communications between John H. Carter Co., Inc. and its stakeholders are precise.
