About The Position

This role involves operating and maintaining solids control equipment and related systems, primarily in an offshore environment. The position requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication. There are three classifications (Class A, B, and C) with increasing levels of responsibility and expertise.

Requirements

  • Experience in the Solids Control field or similar mechanical experience to identify potential mechanical issues.
  • Willingness to learn NOV policies, procedures, and equipment operations.
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record to ensure timely travel to job sites.
  • Ability to safely perform general labor tasks within NOV safety guidelines.
  • Successfully pass Pre-Employment Background Check, Physical, Audiogram, Vision Screen, Pulmonary Function/FIT Test, and Substance Abuse Testing.
  • Willingness to undergo random and periodic Substance Abuse Testing.
  • Ability to safely operate heavy equipment (track hoe, backhoe) as required.

Responsibilities

  • Expertly complete Solids Control Surveys, including rig ups, rig downs, troubleshooting, repair, and fluid routing (Class A).
  • Perform Solids Control analysis and provide appropriate recommendations (Class A).
  • Complete electrical rig ups, rig downs, troubleshooting, and repairs (Class A & B).
  • Proficiently follow proper sampling procedures (Class A & B).
  • Maintain required NOV WSS Core Training and annual refresher training (All Classes).
  • Accurately complete daily reports (All Classes).
  • Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and co-workers (Class A & C).
  • Exhibit excellent rig etiquette and a professional attitude (All Classes).
  • Successfully train other employees (Class A & B).
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record (All Classes).
  • Willingness to complete general labor tasks as required (All Classes).
  • Satisfactorily complete Solids Control rig ups, rig downs, troubleshooting, and minor repairs (Class B).
  • Perform Solids Control analysis of equipment (Class B).
  • Possess satisfactory knowledge of Solids Control and Vacuum Unit jobs (Class B).
  • Complete daily reports and maintain clear communication (Class B).
  • Demonstrate satisfactory rig etiquette and professionalism (Class B).
  • Train other employees as needed (Class B).
  • Recognize and understand the function of Solids Control equipment (Class C).
  • Exhibit proper rig etiquette (Class C).
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers (Class C).
  • Demonstrate a professional attitude (Class C).
  • Complete general labor tasks as required (Class C).
