About The Position

This position is located Offshore in the Gulf of America, formerly known as the Gulf of Mexico. The main purpose is to perform job functions required of fitting and installing iron fabrication as steel structures and pipe per the contract/job specifications and quality assurance requirements/fitting procedures and established ISO/QC program standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Pipefitter experience and be able to successfully demonstrate the ability to pass a written and practical pipe fitter or a structural fitter test
  • 2+ years prior offshore fitter or welder experience
  • Must be able to measure, fit and install piping and structural materials
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings
  • Ability to pull measurements, elevations and coordinates
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience in operating hand torches, power tools and rigging
  • Knowledge of fabrication materials
  • Must be able to pass all Offshore trainings
  • Valid TWIC card
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
  • Turning, twisting, bending, and balancing
  • Pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Highschool diploma or GED
  • 3+ years prior offshore experience, with one year within the last six months

Responsibilities

  • Study engineering drawings to determine materials requirements and task sequences
  • Read and interpret blueprint and specifications and work-packs
  • Perform mathematical calculations, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, angles, etc.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install structural and pipe, plate, pipe material, beams etc., per blueprint and job specifications-ISO's
  • Locate and mark workpiece from drawings cutting lines, checking for material thickness, welding shrinkage, and other component specifications
  • Straighten warped or bent parts using sledges, hand torches, and straightening procedures
  • Follow fitting procedures and principles used in fabricating offshore jackets, decks, heliports, production facilities, etc.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools
  • Lay out and install piping, equipment, and other mechanical systems in compliance with construction drawings and specifications-ISO's and work-packs
  • Inspect work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness
  • Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications using squares and measuring tapes
  • Know how to pull coordinates to find pipes and get measurements
  • Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
