Offset Press Operator
About The Position
Western States Envelope & Label is hiring an experienced Presstek Press Operator for its manufacturing team at the Butler Corporate HQ in Butler, Wisconsin. The role involves setting up and operating a Presstek offset printing press, making adjustments throughout production, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring printed jobs meet customer specifications and quality standards. The position is full-time, on third shift, Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. Candidates must be available to train on first shift, from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Pay is $24.00 per hour, plus a $2.00 third-shift premium, and the posting offers a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000. The work takes place in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
Requirements
- Previous offset printing or press operation experience.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to follow job specifications and production procedures.
- Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
- Ability to stand for approximately the duration of the scheduled shift, excluding paid breaks.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform repetitive grasping, frequent twisting and lifting above shoulder height, and occasional bending, reaching, crouching, or stooping during an eight-hour shift.
- Tactile sensation in hands and digits; near and far visual acuity; color and peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
- Reasoning, mechanical aptitude, and mathematical skills appropriate for operating the equipment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate the Presstek offset printing press.
- Make press adjustments to maintain print quality and production efficiency.
- Monitor printed materials for color accuracy, registration, and overall quality.
- Troubleshoot printing issues and make necessary corrections.
- Follow job specifications and production schedules.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
