About The Position

The Security Communications Center (SCC) Officer is responsible for working with their team members to complete the daily operations of the Wynn Las Vegas Security Communications Center. This includes monitoring security radio channels, relaying timely and precise information to relevant security personnel, performing surveillance duties, answering telephones, inputting information into a database, and coordinating the response of outside agencies such as Paramedics or the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, all while ensuring the safety and security of Wynn guests, employees, and facilities. An SCC Officer must be able to multi-task and operate during high volume and/or high stress periods. SCC Officers duties include but are not limited to maintaining Wynn standards of exceptional service, adhering to Forbes Five Star standards, understanding resort features and services, utilizing the Security radio system, answering incoming telephone calls, utilizing the CCTV camera system for surveillance and reviews, documenting incidents in the database, monitoring the Safety Button system, monitoring emergency exits and entryways, using multiple modes of communication, coordinating with other departments, coordinating with outside agencies, and using logic and reasoning to analyze complex situations and exercise appropriate judgment.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate in English with patrons, management, and other employees.
  • Strong general computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs.
  • Ability to type quickly.
  • Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of patron information and pertinent hotel data.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Wynn standards of exceptional service to patrons and employees.
  • Adhere to all Forbes Five Star standards to maintain the integrity of Wynn/Encore Las Vegas, while promoting hotel facilities and services.
  • Utilize the Security radio system to monitor traffic, acknowledge traffic, broadcast pertinent information, and direct the response of Security personnel.
  • Utilize the Telephone system to answer all incoming telephone calls to the Security Department and contact Emergency services during critical incidents or events.
  • Utilize the CCTV camera system to conduct active surveillance, monitor ongoing responses, conduct camera reviews, and save video coverage.
  • Utilize the database to document all incidents and calls for service, ensuring updates and accurate information.
  • Monitor for any activations of the Safety Button system and coordinate responses.
  • Monitor emergency exits, back of house entryways, and employee garage gates.
  • Utilize multiple modes of communication for information dissemination.
  • Coordinate with other departments (Employee Relations, Guest Claims, Legal, Risk Management, Fire Control Center, Surveillance, Loss Prevention, etc.).
  • Coordinate with outside agencies (Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Clark County Fire Department, etc.) during critical incidents or events.
  • Use logic and reasoning to analyze, understand, and evaluate complex situations by identifying strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches or solutions, and exercise appropriate judgment in establishing priorities while considering the benefits of potential actions.
