About The Position

New Porgera Limited (NPL) is seeking a qualified and experienced Officer – Camps to join the Supply and Business Services Department under the Business Services Section. This role is responsible for managing accommodation services and monitoring contractors to ensure compliance with catering, janitorial, and related services for all eligible residents of Porgera camp facilities. The position also involves data collation and report presentation for effective camp management.

Requirements

Minimum Grade 12 level education or above.
Computer literate.
Ability to work unsupervised and is trustworthy.
Minimum of 1 year experience in Catering and/or Camp Services.
Ability to work to critical deadlines.
Awareness in cost management.
Ability to work on shift and on a 10/4 roster.
Ability to work on weekends and odd hours.
Up-to-date police clearance certificate (obtained within the last 6 months).
Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test.
Be a Local Porgeran (Cat 1 or Cat 2) candidate.
Available to start immediately.

Nice To Haves

Tourism & Hospitality Management qualification.
Current driver’s license (Class 3/6).

Responsibilities

Monitor daily employee accommodation requirements, including general camp management and check-in/check-out activities.
Utilize the INX In-Flight System for managing accommodation data and reports.
Maintain stock control and inventory of all camp items, ordering as necessary.
Maintain the Relocation Housing database and assist Camp Supervisors with new occupants.
Conduct Housing/Camp inspections for maintenance requirements and clearance for departing residents.
Assist Camp Supervisor in monitoring daily catering menus, food safety requirements, and kitchen audits.
Assist Camp Supervisor in monitoring costs and expenditures, seeking opportunities for operating cost reductions.
Ensure timely and efficient turnaround of contractor invoices.
Deliver a high level of customer service to external and internal customers.
Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with NPL's Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all related rules and procedures.
