About The Position

The Office Technician I performs a variety of clerical type work in a designated area within the school or department. This role is essential for maintaining school/department business operations, including managing records, assisting staff and students, and ensuring efficient office functioning.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card within forty-five (45) days of employment.
  • Knowledge of District policies, operations and organization.
  • Knowledge of Interpersonal skills including tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
  • Knowledge of Communication (telephone, email, etc.) etiquette.
  • Knowledge of Office equipment, procedures, practices and equipment, including computers and related software.
  • Knowledge of Modern office equipment including personal computer and related software.
  • Knowledge of Office systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge of English language, spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to establish work priorities to meet schedules and timelines.
  • Ability to maintain files, records and reports.
  • Ability to operate modern office equipment including personal computers and related software.
  • Ability to maintain a calendar of appointments.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of clerical experience is preferred.
  • Any combination equivalent to training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with all HIPAA and FERPA related confidentiality requirements.
  • Develops positive relations with students, parents, school staff and the public.
  • Performs a variety of clerical type work related to school/department business.
  • Types materials such as letters, memorandums, reports, bulletins, and requisitions.
  • Maintains a system of files, reports and records, both physical and computer.
  • Assists the Office Technician II in the maintenance of student and other specialized records.
  • Operates office machines.
  • Places and receives phone calls.
  • Maintains a schedule of appointments.
  • Collaborates in the arrangement of after hours use of school facilities.
  • Orders and maintains supplies as needed.
  • Models a strong focus on a customer service oriented culture in assisting PUSD staff and community members.
  • Assists and collaborates with the Office Technician II in the execution of all duties as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
