About The Position

To efficiently manage front-office operations by directing inquiries, providing information, and assisting with customer service while adeptly handling computer tasks such as document creation, website updates, and data management. Additionally, support administrative functions including correspondence preparation, inventory management, and financial tracking to ensure smooth operations and assist the Public Works Director as needed. Standard work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Remote work is not an option in this position.

Requirements

  • Two years of post-secondary education and two years of work experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and direct walk-in and telephone requests for information and service to the appropriate resource in a pleasant and tactful manner.
  • Provide research and educational information in response to customer inquiries, including assistance with permitting.
  • Perform computer functions including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, desktop publishing, photo editing, and web site updates.
  • Prepare correspondence, news releases, newsletters, brochures, and other materials; prepare and assemble paper and electronic mailings in advance of workshops, meetings, or other events.
  • Order equipment and supplies; process incoming and outgoing mail; maintain various office records and provide general office support.
  • Properly code and submit expenses and income, generate and track invoices, prepare reports, and provide updates to supervisor and staff.
  • Become proficient with the content management system for the county’s website program.
  • Assist with routine maintenance of the department’s time-keeping system and capital asset inventory.
  • Maintain records and invoices for consumables inventory; reconcile inventory records using appropriate computer systems and programs.
  • Provide general office operations support for Public Works Director, as assigned.
