About The Position

The Office Services Assistant performs a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to support office operations. This role involves customer service, managing office procedures, filing, recordkeeping, and basic mathematical tasks. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required for certain positions, with additional pay based on proficiency level. The position is part of an examination process that includes a written exam and potential appraisal of application materials. Successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list for appointment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential duties.
  • Must submit a bilingual certificate (English/Spanish) issued by the Kern County Human Resources Division or its authorized agent, Bakersfield College, before the final filing deadline.
  • Valid government-issued photograph identification for examination admittance.
  • Ability to pass a written exam with a minimum score of 70%.
