About The Position

The Office Secretary III is a temporary position that provides administrative, clerical, and customer service support for a veterans cemetery in Cheltenham, Maryland. The position supports daily cemetery operations and serves veterans, their dependents, and the public with accuracy and professionalism.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years of secretarial or clerical experience.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 WPM.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Experience operating standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare correspondence, reports, forms, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Maintain and update records, logs, and databases in accordance with program requirements.
  • Answer incoming calls, greet visitors, and provide accurate information on cemetery services and procedures.
  • Perform data entry, type documents at a minimum of 40 words per minute (WPM), and assist with weekly and monthly reports.
  • Sort, process, and distribute daily mail; maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Operate standard office equipment including copier, fax, scanner, and multiline telephone systems.
  • Track supply inventory and report needs to management.
