About The Position

Position is responsible for providing nursing care to patients in a professional and courteous manner. Carries out Physician orders including but not limited to assisting with procedures, administering injections, performing phlebotomy, taking patient calls, cleaning and stocking exam rooms, calling in prescriptions, coordinating supply levels, pre-certifying patients medical services, and assisting the physician with all other patient care as requested.

  • Required Certifications/Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina; Current CPR certification.
  • Required Training: Basic first aid knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a positive attitude and harmonious relationships with others.
  • Appropriate communication of information to all ages (Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric).
  • Responsiveness to all patients and office staff requests and needs.
  • Performance of duties assigned by authorized personnel or as required in an emergency.
  • Communication including answering/transferring calls, handling orders/messages, and phone triage.
  • Scheduling referrals, appointments, ancillaries, surgeries, and hospital admissions.
  • Medical records management including documentation, chart maintenance, filing/pulling, and faxing/copying.
  • Lab duties including phlebotomy, specimen collection and processing, and results reporting.
  • Medication management including IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, oral, topical, suppository, sublingual, and inhalant administration, as well as storage, handling, ordering, and maintaining levels.
  • Patient care including exam room preparation and maintenance, conducting patient interviews, chaperoning, assisting/performing minor procedures, triage, implementing physician orders, patient education, results reporting, and clinical documentation.
  • Operation and responsibility for equipment, including routine maintenance, ordering supplies, log sheets, and cleaning of general office equipment, patient care equipment, and specialized equipment.
  • In-service/Education including maintaining certification/licensure, competency, department orientation, and annual training.
  • Maintaining log sheets/audits for samples, pharmacy, Mayday equipment, oxygen, and equipment.
  • Instrument management including stocking, cleaning/sterilization, knowledge of usage, and storage.
  • Providing support and guidance for clinical policies and procedures.
  • Other duties including precertification/authorization, coding (E&M, office procedures, surgeries, hospital services), correspondence, statistical reports, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
