About The Position

The Office of Peace & Justice is seeking an energetic and motivated Catholic committed to social justice, Catholic Social Teaching, and the eradication of poverty for a paid internship. This part-time intern will work 10-15 hours per week for 15 weeks during a period from May through August. Intern responsibilities include assisting the director in educating members of the community regarding poverty and Catholic Social Teaching (CST), organizing and helping with community events, promoting the CCHD grant program, the Immigration Task Force, and the Peace and Justice Commission, and discovering new potential organizations to fund.

Requirements

  • Commitment to Catholic Social Teaching, social justice, and poverty alleviation
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a part-time capacity (10–15 hours/week)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the director in educating community members about poverty and Catholic Social Teaching (CST)
  • Support the planning, organization, and execution of community events and outreach initiatives
  • Promote programs such as the CCHD grant program, Immigration Task Force, and Peace & Justice Commission
