About The Position

Responsible for providing professional nursing care to the patient under the direction of a physician or health care provider. This role involves performing general nursing care, administering prescribed medication and treatments, responding to patient needs, interpreting symptoms, and collaborating on care plans. The position also requires maintaining facility hygiene and safety, managing medication storage, and demonstrating professional conduct and continued growth. Requirements

  • Up to 6 months in a similar or related healthcare position
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Kansas preferred.
  • BLS is required
  • Knowledge of EMR system
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care according to individual needs.
  • Knowledge of EMR system.
  • Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication as well as excellent.
  • Interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals
  • Occasionally lifts or carriers items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Requires full range of body motion
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time
  • Vision and hearing to normal range
  • Exposure to communicable diseases

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Kansas preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general nursing care to patients.
  • Adjusts and/or administers prescribed medication and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and physician/provider's orders.
  • Responds to all incoming telephone calls and patient needs.
  • Interpret patient's symptoms and communicates them to the physician.
  • Assess the patient's needs to provide the best care and advice.
  • Collaborates with physicians and nurses to devise individual care plans for patients.
  • Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections, ect) and documents findings in the patient's medical record.
  • Inspect the facility and equipment and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, ect).
  • Maintaining personal contact with patients and relatives, being sensitive to their needs for courtesy, dignity, and privacy and ensuring a friendly environment at all times.
  • Storing and checking medication in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for professional practice and continued professional growth.
  • Attends all in-services and meetings as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
